Singapore Bloggers' Pow-Wow

It has been hectic over the last one week or so with plenty of bloggers’ meet & food, food and more food and hardisk crashes! So, I’m excused from posting so soon, yeah.

I was honored to be invited to the Kiasuland bloggers pow-wow by Seefei.

The both of us had an early start at the NUS Graduate’s Society watering hole. I picked him up at his office at about 3.30 pm. Yep, Kiasuland has very strict drink and drive laws, so if you want to beat the law, start drinking early because the cops will only set up road blocks after midnight. We warmed up to each other rather easily, probably because he is more humsap than I am. Birds of a feather you might say?

At about 6.30pm, we picked up Mother Superior at a rendezvous point. Ahh….she has the sweetest smile one can ever imagine…the type that launch a thousand ships! (No wonder Kiasuland is such a busy port.) …the kind of smile that radiates so much warmth that it melts icebergs….the kind of smile that could trigger half my mind to bundle Seefei into the booth so that she can sit up front next to me!

See? Sweet or not?

Arriving at the destination’s car park, I almost wind down the window to ask what I thought was the parking attendant; “Hello Mr. ….after 6pm must still put parking coupons ah?”. See, Malaysian registered vehicles can always act blur, don’t put coupons and plead for leniency with teary eyes when caught, but make sure you rehearse these scenarios over and over until you are damn convincing. Coming back to the mistaken parking attendant, luckily, common sense prevailed for that was Leonard indeed! I had no idea why was he standing there ushering traffic. It was fully occupied anywhere, so Seefei suggested another parking lot many blocks away, lots of walking, dodging traffic, remembering street and building names. Its so blardy far that I think that area is in a different postcode liao! LOL

The lovely lenglui Spellbound arrived at about the same time as Mickell & Grace. Introduction and handshakes were exchanged, and everyone was so well-behaved, so I better not ruin the evening with our havoc Malaysian bloggers’ antics. Otherwise, they’ll be left wondering where this ‘suah ku’ fella come from?

SeeFei with his 'toy'

Last to arrive were Robin, Hiepee and Zack.
“Waah! Your blog very humsap wan!” exclaimed Robin after the introduction. “If you blog that in Kiasuland you’ll sure be arrested wan”

“Yeah, and I have to de-link your blog from mine for the fear that my girls will view your humsap post”; said Mother Superior. But I know MS secretly views them in private.

Robin and I have something in common. He loves dogs and I love dog meat. *Grin*

“Was it at your blog that I once posted a dog stew recipe?” I asked.

“Yeah lah….you damn terrible fella la.” Said Robin….and he never commented at my blog since then. L

The evening was filled with light hearted moments and I was more sober than a church mouse sipping Chinese tea. The food was superb and the company was great. Thanks for the wonderful evening. Come over to JB sometime, yeah!

Good you enjoy the meeting.

I hope to check on your lovehandles if we meet up. By then I hope they have not grown too wide. LOL

Ah Nel....yeah kah? no wonder the streets of sabah got hardly any stray dogs hor. What bout sarawak?

Winn liuliu....you tasted mozzies is it? You've been mixing around with frog princes a lot lately ah?

Seefei....That place so public how to havoc? Smitten?? Smitten to bits you mean? Hahaha!!

Ah Pek...nope, it wasn't boring at all. It's a good refreshing change. Not every bloggers' meet must have humsap jokes, drink to a drunken stupor to enjoy oneself. We had very intellectual discussion about the mid-east crisis, oil prices affecting the global economy, the proposed crooked bridge and the political impact etc. Very thought provoking discussion.

King's wife....shhhh!!! That one for your eyes only. So be thankful that you've been the fortunate few.

Lil Joy....put her pic as my screensaver also the ants all come liao. You say sweet anot?

ZMM....it's ok. I have an inflatable doll in my booth for Seefei to amuse himself with. LOL

when I grow up, I want to have a smile just like Mother Superior's!

Ok, ok, now everybody listen. I had asked Feikor to remind Cocka to bring a pillow. Cocka was so thrilled!!! He thought, and thought, and imagined, until Feikor said, "MS said it's for you to sleep in case SG bloggers are so darn boring." LOL!!!

Ya loh! Kiasuland damn boring wan leh! So clean and squeaky, cannot beat your Boleh people in natural humour.

Actually, after dinner, I said to Cocka, "Oi, you can wake up now, boring meeting over oredi." Haha..

To Cocka - thanks for dropping by that evening. Had a great time laughing. More, more, more! Zzzzz...

You really love eating dog? *gasp*

Well, if you come to Indonesia, then you gotta try the spicy dog from Manado (north Sulawesi) and the dog soup from Batak (north Sumatra).

Life without some salty wetness can be boring. We can do with Robin's clean charm and wits. But we can do with Dr Cocka's hum sup antics too :)

This is what having a meet-up for fun, laughter, peace and joy is all about :)

What's no horse run, btw? In hokkien ah?

May....what's wrong with yours? Its already so sweet no need to add sugar liao! LOL

Simple Yank....I am always well-behaved, compared to sex-starved G.I.s . LOL

Wuching....I can't put my face on the blog. That's because someday I shall run for presidency post. Some day, perhaps, some day...

MS....Its the diversity of the group that makes it so unique. The KL rah-rah group on the other hand, is all siao wan! That's so predictable. LOL
It's my pleasure for dropping by and i hope you can make it to KL someday and party with us.

Sengjai.....this shows I can be squeaky clean also if I choose to....or pretend to be squeaky clean rather.

Robin....Can you come up with some new phrase ah? LOL

Flyboy.....Oi! Don't say something so scandalous leh. Afturds her hubby crucify me how?
Yes, I've put on weight after all that makan. That nite, Singapore...Sat nite, King's Wife house potluck do, Sunday got another bloggers lunch meet summore. Will blog about that later.

Hi Selba....Welcome and thanks for dropping by. Actually, I'm not into dog meat lah although I've tried it once when I was very young. Oh? The bataks eat dogs too do they? Hmmm..

Mickell...Well said. The yin & yang balance, right? Yep, life is short. Live it to the fullest. Eat ,drink and be merry.

Ah Nel....Foowahh!! So keng ah? Cannot bend wan ah? wait til that guy meets Dr. Chen. She can slice it up wafer thin and make shasimi. Dun play-play .....

Dr. Jekyll....can you still remember how it taste like? Yeah, I won't eat it again too. Actually, I suspect Robin must have quietly tried out that recipe. hehehehe!! Shhhh!!!!

That is a lovely picture of MS. ...ahh..now we know le coq is a sucker for sweet smiles...

I never expected Mother Superior to be so young! I had expected her to look like... well, mother superior. lol

Ka..t.... with a smile like that, I'm sure i'm not the only sucker, yeah.

Helen....yeah the nick can be quite misleading hor?
Just like your name, Helen. Its a very popular name used in...err..er..massage joints and karaokes. LOL But i'm sure you don't work there hor.
P/S: Yes, I still got hair and in the right places too. LOL
